Police Petition

Under this Conservative government’s budget plans the police will have to close more police stations and reduce policing in London by a further 5,000 officers.

Since 2010 the Tory Government has cut the London policing budget by £600 million, and are cutting their budget by a further £400 million over the next couple of years.

We have already lost 170 police officers in Harrow since 2010 and we have all witnessed the rise in violent crime, Anti Social Behaviour and the reduced visibility of police on our streets.

After tireless campaigning by Labour Councillors, activists and community leaders, we are pleased that the decision to close South Harrow Police Station has been delayed, but the neighbourhood police bases are still under threat of closure.

Harrow Labour will continue to fight for our local services whilst Conservatives in Westminster continue to slash public sector funding.
