Lowlands Recreation Ground

The Greater London Authority gave the Council money to improve the park a few years ago, as at the time it was a dull space, mostly used by young people from Harrow College, but with no particular recognition of its importance to that group and other young people.

The importance of providing equipment appropriate to students was stressed during the redesign of the park and the basketball court and outdoor table tennis table provided have been really well used.  Greenhill councillors were later asked if we could pay for outdoor gym equipment from the Neighbourhood Investment Scheme (a small pool of money councillors could use to fund ward improvements – now gone the way of many other schemes due to the council’s funding challenges). We were very happy to do it as we knew this would be popular with park users and would also fit in with the council’s commitment better health for our residents.
