Your local Labour councillors has been successful in securing a share of £6m in funding from the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), to implement natural flood protection projects in Edgware. This will tackle surface water and sewage flooding.
Your local Labour Councillors have worked hard so that Edgware gets its fair share of this fund. This will mean major improvements to the flooding defences around the Brook as well as projects to increase biodiversity and protect the wildlife and greenery of the area.
Work on the detailed design will start soon and we will keep you informed. It is important that decisions are made that benefit Edgware residents and we will make sure your views are taken into account.
Cllr James Lee Said: “This is very exciting and welcome news. The benefits of this scheme, including boosting biodiversity and public space as well as improvements to water quality, will mean significant gains for Edgware”
